Macalester Masters Swimming is a coached program for intermediate to experienced swimmers who are looking to improve their stroke technique and endurance through challenging workouts. It's a team for lap swimmers, fitness swimmers, triathletes, and competitive swimmers. Macalester Masters is a workout group of the Minnesota Masters club. All Mac Masters swimmer must belong to USMS, which provides individuals and the team with liability insurance coverage. USMS sanctions swimming competitions at the zone, region, and national levels, but not all of our members swim to compete. We have members of all ability levels who swim for physical fitness, triathlon training, open water training, pool competition, or simply because they enjoy it. Our team is not intended for those who need beginning swimming lessons. We have swimmers spanning several decades and a wide range of abilities. The role of the coach is to design a program that will allow all members to reach individual goals within the pool. Coach Wilson works with each swimmer to improve his or her swimming technique both to improve performance and to avoid injury while training.
